Your happiness depends on you …

Interesting idea? But, surely happiness depends on you landing the job you want, dating that hot guy from the gym or buying the designer handbag you want. Right?

WRONG! If this is how you measure and attain happiness then you will never truly be fulfilled … Why? Because your happiness will depend on your external environment and those who move within it.

Imagine instilled happiness that is without judgement or measure but is simple, pure and most importantly effortless. Is this achievable? Sure it is, it just takes a little ‘self-work’ to build your ‘self-worth’ (see what I did there ;)). In all seriousness we need to make peace with who we are and find comfort in the knowledge that no matter what is affecting our external environment our authentic self is preserved and untouched, bathing blissfully in a sparkling hot tub of happiness!

Your true hearts desires aren’t material wealth or success but a desire to know and love the real, authentic YOU.

So … What do you do next? Well, I suggest sitting in meditation and doing exactly as the below quote tells you – it is a personal fave of mine 🙂

“Tell everyone you know: “My happiness depends on me, so you’re off the hook.” And then demonstrate it. Be happy no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel – and then you’ll love them all. Because, the only reason you don’t love them is because you’re using them as your excuse not to feel good.” Esther Abraham – Hicks

As always, I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic so leave any comments and questions below.

From one whole hearted authentic self to another,
